Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Moscow – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Salahuddin Rabbani met with the Foreign Minister of Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Erlan Idrisov at the sideline of the SCO High Ranking Conference in Moscow, Russia.
At the beginning, Mr. Rabbani thanked that Republic of Kazakhstan for its cooperation in various areas, especially providing educational scholarships for Afghan students, and mentioned the available economic opportunities for both countries and emphasized on the importance of its expansion. He continued giving information regarding the Afghan Government’s latest achievements, its future programs and efforts toward peace to the Foreign Minister of Republic of Kazakhstan.
Later on, Mr. Idrisov stated that peace, stability and security in Afghanistan is beneficial for the regional countries and the world and it is necessary that Afghanistan should be cooperated in countering terrorism and extremism and supported in its efforts regarding peace. Mr. Idrisov stated that with peace in Afghanistan, it will have the role of a transit intersection among the Central and Southern Asian countries and an economic opportunities center.
At the end, Mr. Rabbani mentioned Afghanistan’s interest in becoming a full member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and wished Kazakhstan’s support in this regard. Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan promised that Afghanistan will be supported by Kazakhstan in this regard.
